Independent and family owned, Petrena Windscreens has been operating in Toowoomba for more than 25 years. A small, close-knit team, we are committed to the highest standards of workmanship and professionalism.

We started out by repairing heavy vehicles and farm machinery decades ago and, as our client base grew, so did we. Now we are the trusted name in glass and windscreen repairs for a wide variety of vehicles including custom machinery and out-of-production classic cars.

Boasting a fast turnaround time, we can have your job done in as little as 24 hours because we repair and replace all broken windscreens here in our workshop. We'll even replace rubber seals.

Whatever you bring us, from a hatchback to a combine harvester, we have the skills and experience for the job.

FAQ

  • Q: Do you do insurance work?

A: Yes, we know it can be stressful dealing with your insurance company, so we can do it all for you. We will deal directly with your insurance company to settle the bill and save you the hassle. For this we only need your claim and policy numbers, then we'll keep you informed

  • Q: How far will you go for mobile repairs?

A: Our workshop is located in Toowoomba, just a short walk from the Grand Central Shopping Centre for your convenience. If you can't risk driving, we can travel to you. We travel as far out as Oakey, Crow's nest, Gatton, Greenmount and everywhere in between!

  • Q: Are DIY repair kits worth it?

A: The price you pay for a DIY crack and dent repair kit may be less than having a professional do it, but we do not recommend it. There is no substitute for experience and we back all our workmanship with a 12-month guarantee. In fact, DIY jobs that go wrong can often result in a total replacement being necessary. Do it right the first time and contact us.

  • Q: Why should I repair small chips and cracks?

A: Any damage to your windscreen glass can threaten the structural integrity of your vehicle and can even qualify as a failure in roadworthy tests. Small chips will always become bigger as water, dirt and road grime get into it and widen it. For the safety of the occupants of your vehicle it is important to have any damage to your glass addressed immediately.

  • Q: Can I stop a chip or crack from spreading?

A: Of course, the best way to stop a chip or crack spreading is to have it professionally repaired as soon as possible. However, in the meantime you can try putting a piece of tape or another waterproof adhesive laminate on the outside of the crack to stop dirt, road grime and water from working into the crack and widening it.

  • Q: How long do repairs or replacements take?

A: We proudly boast a fast turnaround policy, which begins right from when you first contact us right to when we hand your keys back. However, in rare cases, such as when we need to manufacture an entirely new set of windows, this may not be possible. We will always let you know right from the start when we give you a quote.
